LOUIS BERGER targets activities of 110 million EUR at local level

Louis Berger Romania, a company that has been involved in the development of large projects on the local level such as the National Arena, the highway Bucharest - Constanta, the modernisation of over 100 schools in Bucharest, water and wastewater infrastructure works etc., estimates a 6.8% increase in turnover for this year to about 110 million EUR. The company specializes in the implementation of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, as well as technical documentation for any type of work. The company also provides project management, cost and timeliness through a rigorous quality control for commercial and business centres, residential areas, hospitals, tourist complexes, educational, environmental and transportation infrastructure etc. Starting from 1953, Louis Berger has worked in more than 140 countries. Currently, the company has 6,000 employees and is constantly in the top 20 of the magazine ENR (Engineering News Record), with a total turnover of over one billion USD. During this period, the company provides technical support services for the design, project management and supervision of implementation for various road projects in Romania. Thus, the construction of the first batch of the motorway Timisoara - Lugoj has been completed; the project is continued with the second batch. Another ongoing project consists in the technical assistance for the rehabilitation of ten strategic bridges in Dobrogea, which has started in 2008 and will end in 2016. Currently, in the environmental sector, Louis Berger has 12 ongoing water infrastructure projects, 4 projects in the waste management area and an important project on the district heating segment. This year, the company completed the most comprehensive communication campaign for a major program of solid waste management in Romania, with funding from the European Union. The firm also provides the necessary technical assistance for the Romanian largest operator of water and sanitation for the implementation of the largest project financed with European funds on the local level.
