PRODUCERS & SUPPLIERS: Optimal conditions for a revival of windows business

The macroeconomic indicators, reflecting a stabilization of the business, are relatively favorable for companies operating on the windows and doors market and on the related sectors. Thus, increasing the volume of work in the construction sector causes a joinery business recovery, although the only activity with a relatively sharp dynamic remains the exports. Factors stimulating the local construction market, which seems to re-enter a sustainable upward trend, are similar to the ones influencing the growth of GDP (although the increase is supported mainly by services and industry) and have also been recently confirmed by Eurostat data. The information indicate that, after -1.3% sequential progress of work volume in the second quarter of 2014, in the following three months were registered an increase of +2.3%, while in October-December a strong upward trend is maintained (+5.5%), after which, in the first quarter this year, there was a more moderate increase (+3.6%), but atypical, if take into account the impact of seasonal factors. All previously announced data indicate that, in the short and even medium term, the recovery of the whole sector will worsen, without any immediate danger of a re-entry into recession. At a national level, the period of "calm" between two electoral moments results in a slight increase in demand for joinery (which remains, in the worst case, at the same levels as in the previous 12 months). Another elements which exert a positive influence on firms in the industry are represented by the allocation of budgetary funds from EU sources more substantial as in the past (to allow initiation of new construction projects or support work on existing ones), possible resumption of wider scale of the National Thermal Rehabilitation Program, reducing in the number of insolvencies and bankruptcies (with some notable exceptions), the focus of public authorities on the means to enabling economic recovery (especially those related to tax reduction) and so on. However, although the above mentioned actions are beyond the control of private managers, they have several other solutions for boosting sales.
